If I could see through eyes like His,
How different things would look;
Each life laid out before me,
Each heart an open book.
For I would see the heartaches
Each life has had to bear;
I wouldn't turn my eyes away,
Their burdens I would share.
And I would see the hidden scars
Each one has tried to hide;
I wouldn't be so quick to judge,
My arms would open wide.
If I could see through eyes like His,
I would see others as they are;
For I would have His vision
And look into their hearts.

For the Lord does not see as man sees;
for man looks at the outward appearance,
but the Lord looks at the heart.
(I Samuel 16:7)
