This house is slowly decaying,
The timbers are getting weak;
The paint is beginning to peel
And the floors are starting to creak.
This house is falling apart,
It's getting drafty and cold;
This house no longer delights me,
Now that it's getting old.
But it stands on a firm foundation,
That has stood the test of time;
For this house was built on Christ,
So its cornerstone is fine.
One day this house will be rebuilt
Up above, on a heavenly plot,
But it will stand on the same foundation,
Grounded on the Son of God.

For no other foundation can anyone lay than
that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
