The day had been frantic,
I looked back with a sigh;
One thing, then another,
And the day had flown by.
Finally, at day's end
We knelt, she and I;
Her tiny hands folded
As she prayed by my side.
"Bless mommy and daddy,
And all of my friends,
And grandma and grandpa,
Please watch over them."
"And thanks for our food,
And the clothes that we wear,
And a warm bed to sleep in,
And my soft teddy bear."
Then tears filled my eyes
As she quietly prayed,
"Dear Jesus, we thank you
For this busy day."
