Statement of Faith

"The Bible says" -- what wonderful words,
What music to my ears.
Words of hope to comfort me,
Lest I be moved to tears.

Words of love to chasten me,
Lest I be prone to hate.
Words of joy to gladden me,
Lest sorrow be my fate.

Words of faith to strengthen me,
Lest doubting fill my heart.
Words of truth -- "the Bible says".
What peace those words impart!
