She looks across the street
To the life she'd like to lead;
For the woman living there
Is who she would like to be.
From the neatly sculptured lawn
To the new car in the drive,
Everything seems perfect there --
Looking from the other side.
But things aren't what they seem
And what her eyes can't see
Is that the woman over there
Is looking back across the street.
And she sees a cluttered yard
Filled with children's toys.
She thinks the woman living there
Is filled with peace and joy.
So if you look across the street, beware;
Things aren't always as they seem.
You may be wishing for a better life,
While living someone else's dream.

But godliness with contentment is great gain.
