There he wept in the darkness,
Deep in the heart of Hell;
Kneeling and crying to Heaven,

Please, God, answer one question, he begged;

The lies that I told? The cruel words I spoke?
The stealing? Or was it my greed?
No, child, it wasn't any of those, He replied,
That cast you away from Me.
The trespass that sent you down to that place
Was only your unbelief.
