Don’t hold on to money,
Don’t hold on to fame;
Just hold on to Jesus
And the power of His name.
Riches won’t help you
When your life on earth ends;
For money won’t save you
From the penalty of sin.
When you die it won’t matter
If on earth you’re known well;
If you’re not know by Jesus
Then you’re headed for hell.
So hold on to Jesus,
Hold fast to that name;
And when this life is over
You won’t be ashamed.
